Al-Amoudi säljer Preem till schweiziskt energibolag
Den etiopisk-saudiska affärsmannen Mohammed Al-Amoudis ägarbolag Corral Petroleum säljer samtliga aktier i oljebolaget Preem. Det framgår av ett pressmeddelande.
”Bolaget spelar en avgörande roll för regionens energisäkerhet, skriver köparen, den schweiziska koncernen Varo Energy, i ett pressmeddelande.
Preem svarar för cirka 40 procent av energibehovet för Sveriges transportbehov, enligt pressmeddelandet. Företaget äger bland annat raffinaderier i Lysekil och Göteborg och omfattande depå- och stationsnät.

Mohammed Hussein Ali Al Amoudi (Arabic: محمد حسين علي العمودي; born 21 July 1946) is an Ethiopian-born Saudi billionaire businessman.
Born in Ethiopia to a Yemeni father from Hadhramaut and Ethiopian mother from the province of Amhara Region, he migrated to Saudi Arabia with his brother Mauricet and became a Saudi citizen.
In 2025, his net worth was estimated by Bloomberg Billionaires Index at approximately US$10.3 billion and a relative fall in net value was linked to the global fall in oil and gold prices at the time of estimation. He was also listed as Ethiopia's richest man, the second richest Saudi Arabian citizen in the world. Al Amoudi made his fortune in construction and real estate before branching out to buy oil refineries in Sweden and Morocco. He is the largest individual foreign investor in Ethiopia and a major investor in Sweden.
