”Tidningspojken” Buffett har fått nog – lämnar branschen
Warren Buffett lämnar tidningsindustrin. Hans bolag Berkshire Hathaway säljer de kvarvarande 30 dagstidningarna för 140 miljoner dollar, motsvarande 1,3 miljarder kronor, till Lee Enterprises.
– Vi hade noll intresse av att sälja till någon annan av en enda anledning: Vi tror att Lee är bäst lämpad för att hantera branschens utmaningar, säger Buffett enligt Wall Street Journal.
Tidningsbranschen har varit Buffetts hemmaplan i stora delar av karriären, skriver Bloomberg. Som tonåring fick han jobb som tidningsbud. Han investerade sedan stora pengar i branschen för att få monopol på lokala annonsmarknader, men förra året sa han att det är ”kört” för de flesta tidningar.
