Visa satsar på stablecoins: ”Naturligt steg”
Visa vill lansera ett betalkort kopplat till stablecoins. Det säger betaljättens produktchef för Norden, Helene Bredesen, till DI.
– Vi ser stablecoins som ett naturligt nästa steg i hur pengar rör sig globalt.
Hon beskriver att man samarbetar med fintechbolag för att kunna erbjuda ett betalkort som kan användas direkt mot kundens stablecoin-saldo och som ska accepteras hos alla Visa-handlare.
Redan i dag erbjuder Visa rådgivning om stablecoins till företag runt om i världen.

A stablecoin is a type of cryptocurrency that aims to maintain a stable value relative to a specified asset, a pool or basket of assets. The specified asset might refer to fiat currency, commodity, or other cryptocurrencies. Despite the name, stablecoins are not necessarily stable. Stablecoins rely on stabilization tools such as reserve assets or algorithms that match supply and demand to try to maintain a stable value.
