Marabous ägare Mondelez vill att avskogningslag skjuts upp

Livsmedelskonglomeratet Mondelez, som bland annat äger chokladvarumärken som Marabou, vädjar om att EU ska senarelägga en ny lag om avskogning med ett år. Det rapporterar Reuters.

Avskogningslagen innehåller krav på att företag som importerar sojabönor, nötkött, kakao, kaffe och motsvarande produkter, ska redovisa att deras leveranskedjor inte bidrar till ödeläggelse av världens skogar. Företag som inte efterlever kraven riskerar dryga böter.

Bland annat med hänvisning till hård press från inflationen och minskad produktivitet tycker Mondelez samhällschef Massimiliano Di Domenico att det är motiverat att implementeringen av lagen skjuts upp.
