Saudisk jättefusion ska lösgöra utlandsinvesteringar
Saudi Aramcos räd in i hemlandets kemiindustri genom Sabic kan leda till stora inflöden av saudiarabiskt kapital till den uppmärksammade teknikfond som drivs av Softbank med Saudiarabiens miljarder. Det skriver Bloomberg.
Kapitalförskjutningen var enligt många orsaken bakom idén kring att börsnotera Saudi Aramco, planer som nu tycks ha gått i stå.
Om Aramco nu i stället köper andelar i Sabic, som till stora delar redan ägs av investeringsfonden, möjliggörs en kanalisering av upp till 70 miljarder dollar. De pengarna kan sedan investeras av Softbank i moderna teknikentreprenörföretag som Uber, Flipkart och Slack.

Headquartered in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, Saudi Aramco operates the world's largest single hydrocarbon network, the Master Gas System. Its 2013 crude oil production total was 3.4 billion barrels (540,000,000 m3), and it manages over one hundred oil and gas fields in Saudi Arabia, including 288.4 trillion standard cubic feet (scf) of natural gas reserves. Saudi Aramco operates the Ghawar Field, the world's largest onshore oil field, and the Safaniya Field, the world's largest offshore oil field.

Measured over all its branches, it became (as of 2014) the world's 98th-largest corporation on the Forbes Global 2000 ranking (which lists only publicly traded companies), with sales revenues of $50.4 billion, profits of $6.7 billion and assets standing at $90.4 billion.The company is based in Riyadh and has interests in 17 affiliated companies, which range from full ownership to significant partial participation.
