Brittiska regeringen öppnar för utbyggnad av Heathrow
På frågan om Londons jätteflygplats Heathrow borde byggas ut svarar Storbritanniens finansminister Rachel Reeves att ekonomisk tillväxt är ”regeringens främsta mål”.
– Svaret kan inte alltid vara nej, sa Reeves om infrastruktursatsningar i allmänhet, enligt Reuters.
Uttalandet på World Economic Forum tolkas av nyhetsbyrån som att den brittiska regeringen inom kort kommer att ställa sig bakom en expansion av Heathrow. Beskedet kan komma i samband med att Reeves håller tal om regeringens ekonomiskpolitiska färdplan nästa vecka.
Utbyggnaden väntas möta kritik från klimataktivister och andra som oroas av utsläppen från flygindustrin.

It was gradually expanded over 75 years and now has two parallel east–west runways, four operational passengers terminals and one cargo terminal. The airport is the primary hub for British Airways and Virgin Atlantic.
